Leon Mk1 Key Fob Issue

Hi everyone, just hoping for some advice on a Seat Leon Cupra Mk1 2004. Recently went on holiday and come back to a dead battery, key would not open door and manual key mechanism was broke so no way to get in.

Watched a YouTube video and put a battery feed with jump leads to the starter motor underneath car after jacking up…luckily this supplied enough power and the car unlocked itself…

Managed to then jump start it properly cause could access battery and car will run and left battery to charge and run for a few hours.

Issue I have now is car will not lock or unlock with key, it works fine on internal car buttons and locks and unlocks but just not with external key… the key is lighting up so battery seems ok and did not have any issue with locking/unlocking before battery went dead, I can’t fully shut my car door as if it self locks then I’m back to square one and can’t get in my car.

I’ve tried re syncing the key following other youtube videos but nothing seems to be working to get car reading unlocking/locking with key any ideas or anyone had anything similar ?

Welcome & sorry to hear you're joining us with MK1 headaches.
When my key wouldn't sync, the garage disconnected the battery for a good few minutes then reconnected it again & followed the coding sequence. It's hit & miss, but it may reset it.
