Going tomorrow for a check over and full wheel alignment - cars handling suddenly feels off, it doesn’t like sudden changes of direction, whereas it normally handles pretty flat and predictably. Corners I’d normally take comfortably at 60mph now feel sketchy at 40mph! Weirdly not making any kind of mechanical noise though

So my local trusted indie are gonna pop it on the ramps and check for anything bent/broken, wheel balance and alignment

I gave the Cupra 290 a wash and clean out before I trade it on Tuesday, moving to a Born V1 79kWh. I’m sure I’ll miss some performance but for the daily and work travelling I’m doing the EV makes sense (charging 95% from home).

Hmm that does not sound good, probably something broken in the suspension like a droplink, bushing etc

That’s what I’m thinking - hence why I want it looked at asap before anything that could be broken then damages something else. It’s annoying I’ve no way of getting it on a ramp at home, but it’ll only cost me £30-40 to have them check it over
Will report back on the verdict…

Nope, completely clear bill of health other than the shock - they checked all the arms, bushes, links, arb etc. Guessing the shocks faulty, as it’s happened pretty much instantly (was literally fine last week), but apparently now has no fluid in it

Now doing the “well I might as well” and looking at just doing a full swap for bilstein b8 all round, and getting some eibach springs on it. If I’m paying for labour, may as well upgrade?

Booked my car again for the second winter running.

Now that it’s cold again in the UK, I know when I’m going to have issues defrosting my car.

Notice when the temp drops my car will not blow hot air until driven.

Yes cars warm up quicker when driven but if I could leave it for 40 minutes with engine running so coolant gets up to temp and blowers will still blow ice cold air.

This causes issues when it’s frosty or snowy. Literally a sitting duck as can’t see out my windshield because it’s frozen or steaming up.

Only option I have to is to start driving with limited to no visibility in order for it to blow air at the requested temp.

No idea of the cause but will take any suggestions in the meantime

I’m dreading when it stars getting frosty

Upgrading is always good haha :)

I will be refreshing the rear soon, as my arms are severely rusted out
Right, that’s a full set of 4x Bilstein B8 shocks and eibach pro springs ordered!
Pondering doing the rear ARB whilst I’m at it, something like a super pro 22mm
Thoughts?
