Hi all sorry for the late reply, just to update you with turning off permanently the speed assist using OBD Eleven
THIS DOES WORK

You will need to do the following
You will need the latest OBD dongle which has just come out, which is version 3.
My version 2 did not even find the car?

Then you will have to get through the 2 part verification, and you will need a google Authenticator app to generate a code to do so.
after this you will have to update your OBD account and then you can start the OBD app again press connect and again it will not find your car
but you can put in your VIN number and then it will find your car.
press connect as normal and go to apps you will find the app at the bottom please look at photo below.
it 200 credits and you will need to turn off the ignition and then turn it back on and then open the bonnet.
the app first time said not supported if this happens try turning off the ingnition and opening the bonnet again
this worked for me.
there will be a warning that the SOS will not work this is normal.

I have try it and it does work and even better in my plug in the annoying brake system, for example when you go from a 40 to 30 the car if you are costing will slow it self down this has now gone and is back as normal car.
this is the car I thought it was bought but after you put some miles on you find out these things.

warning if you do try this it is at your own peril.

I bought the ODB11 dongle and was able to get it to remember the speed warning setting, but even though it says on the site that the lane assist was supported on the post facelift model it doesn't appear.

Unrelated to that, I do find it a little dishonest that they don't tell you how much any it will cost until you plug it into the car - or if they do publish it they don't make it easy to find.

I changed the speed assist to remember the setting, but it doesn't do what the previous poster said - the auto-braking when moving to a new speed limit still happens.

Of course it still happens, because that is a setting in your infotainment system that needs to be switched off. The Traffic Sign Recognition still works and does it's job.
It is not the same thing with the over-speed warning setting - which is just a chime to remind you to watch your speed.

I only mentioned it because of the post above that said when they turned off the speed assist on the ODB11 it suggested it changed that too.

Can someone with a 24/25 facelift car confirm how you turn off the ADAS features on startup please? Screenshots would be a bonus….

I’m not looking to OBD11 them off permanantly , just asking what’s the sequence to silence the Speed Reminder beeps (or whatever the new Formentor does) while keeping the ACC speed limit changes. Not so bothered about the Lane Keep Assist as have that on my 22 car unless it intervenes more strongly, but can both be turned off individually, or together?

If you look at page 1 I have put on there what you need to do, there are now plenty of videos on YouTube on the golf ect on how to do it.
But remember you will need the vin number to put into OBd eleven to find the car as it’s that new and turn on ignition and open the bonnet as it won’t work and you might need to do it a few time for it to work as it did come up once saying the car is incomparable

All the driving assist systems can be turned off individually. You can separately turn off the Speed Warning (beep) and have all the other still ON, including the adaptation of the ACC to the speed limit (that one has a separate setting in the infotainment menu). The Speed Warning can be turned off either from the steering wheel buttons, or from the infotainment - in the Driving Assistance menu.

What? Why? Since when???
The OBD will automatically detect/recognize the car once connected to it...

With the ignition on...

1. Press the LH button, marked - O
2. Your options will appear in the dashboard - X
3. Use the RH thumbwheel to scroll down to the one you want -
4. Change on/off by pressing the same thumbwheel -

It's quick & easy to do.

Thanks for the response and photos, I know EU legislation required two actions (button presses etc.) to turn the ADAS off, but it's a tad more here - not a deal breaker though...

I was half hoping on the Formentor it might be included in the custom option in the mode selection button on the wheel (Cupra, Sport, Custom, Motorway), some other cars are quicker / easier - a double press of the same button in the new R5 is all that's required to disable ADAS.

Don't worry mate. I timed it - my best result was 0.75 seconds. You might not be quite as good as me of course, but it'll come with practice.
