Couple of queries I have around oil...

Is there an engine bay location for purchasing and adding a dipstick?

And secondly how much oil volume is between the min and max levels on the dashboard oil level display please?

1.5 dsg etsi mild hybrid

From absolute min to max on the display is about a litre.

If your engine came without a dipstick, don't buy one and use it as a reference point or you'll end up overfilling the oil. Go off what the dash says.

Thank you, Is there a recommended oil the forum/users recommend for the engine? Mine is the 115ps.

I used to use a different oil in a couple of my previous vehicles but those were "hot hatches".

When the car warned me the oil level was getting low (nearly 5,000 miles or so) I topped up with 0.5L which brought it under Max but not wanting to overfill. I prefer a dipstick as fitted to my last 2 Leon's.

A dipstick is a much easier way of measuring the oil, I can only assume the change to the digital gauge is to make the measurement more dynamic and give an accurate depiction of what the engine needs filling up to.

For the longest time it was rule of thumb that engines were topped up to the MAX mark, now the manufacturer stipulates that the level should be halfway up the dipstick (between MIN and MAX), I assume that allows for the expansion of the oil when it's hot, but keeps the level below the threshold of triggering an "oil level over full" message on the dash 🤷‍♂️
