pulled up last weds, amber warning on drive system, moved about 3 feet and red warning comes on. Engine limited to 3000rpm, which would be useful if I could have gotten the car to engage a gear.
Anyway recovered to dealer, now waiting for diagnosis.
Codes were a variety of hv errors
 
Not off the top of my head, there was something about cooling. I all I think there were 5 things. - Going to call garage Monday for a progress check

Local main dealer took 3 weeks to tell me they couldn’t work on the car. Nearest 50 miles away
Car delivered they have over 4 hv cars waiting,
Called today to say it’s a dead cell, on a less than 5 year old car
Might get it back before Christmas
Don’t know fault codes but will ask when I collect it

I'm assuming all good to be covered under warranty?
 
A cell fault *should* be covered under the 8 year battery warranty.
 
Well time for an update
New cell was due 30 dec, didn’t arrive, due 14 Jan, didn’t arrive and no new eta. So now I’m wondering if vag have a cell available!
At what point is the car written off as unable to repair?
Does anyone have any experience of a warranty write off?

Never heard of a car being written off by warranty in over 20 years of working for VWG.

Parts delays are very common though.
