Is this normal? I get around a 22 to 26 mile battery range (in a 2024 Formentor) and I live 11 miles from the office. So I can get there and back with a full charge. However, to do that I have to drive like 90 year old with a fear of driving. What usually happens is I drive the first 3 miles in E mode on the 30mph roads. Then when I hit the duel carriageway I accelerate and thew engine kicks in for the boost. (this happens even when I am not putting my foot to the floor). Once the engine has kicked in I cannot switch back to e-mode for at least 5 miles is that normal?

This is my first full PHEV however, beforehand I had a Mercedes PHEV on hire for around a month. and this was not a issue I could switch between full electric and hybrid at anytime without any issues. So I would also like to know is this the same on the updated Formentor? as I will be selecting a new car next year

The facelift (FL) Formentor favors a lot more the EV driving compared to the pre-facelift. On the FL the car will still keep the ICE running for a while after it was first started, but that will be for a shorter time compared to the pre-FL.
