Yeah there is a lot of misinformation flying around.
Not sure we can spec the heat pump over here, its not on the configurator, or at least not for the VZ extreme.

Yea this is another big misconception people also have, thinking you have to use the configurator. The UK has heat pump option too but it's not available when you use the configurator (neither is it in Finland), you have to put an order through your local dealer. Maybe if it was nearer £600 I'd consider it but as the car will be mainly short trips and overnight cheap charging, I'm not sure its worth it, unless I'm missing something?

That's too much imo especially for UK where it's less useful than up here north. In Finland it costs 900€ incl VAT (~£772), I was a bit 50/50 or maybe 55/45 or so towards picking it in the end but if I was from the UK I wouldn't pay £960 for it (at 600~£650 I'd consider).

Purely some unscientific predictions based on some tests I've seen I wouldn't be suprised if during the winter months in UK you might gain up to 8~11% or so range and in Finland I predict up to around ~15% benefit during winter but autumn/spring maybe 3~5% benefits. Sure it will also perhaps heat up a little quicker and people tend to think it's a bit more "pleasing" feel to the cabin perhaps if going by other brands but doubt its a night and day difference there, just subtle nuance.

It's probably not possible for me to change anymore but cannot help but ponder whether I did the right decision or not as I'm such an extreme example of guy with a decision making anxiety, whether to pick the panoramic roof or not in this case, it's a 650€ with VAT included option here. Friends and family keeps telling me, nah don't pick it but I've never had experience of one myself, I just keep argumenting myself of cons vs pros but could never get to any concensus that would weigh heavier towards "no" or "yes".

Cons:

- Will let more sunshine in meaning to slightly warmer interior in summer or colder during winter. Especially I've read panoramic roofs can add a bit of a chilly feel coming through during particularly cold winter days. Sure it has a closeable sunshade but probably it won't fix these things fully though. AC will have to work slightly harder, so slightly worse range.

- A little bit more noise than with no sunroof.

- Since Cupra Raval has so much interior lighting (I have the optional package with the more advanced interior lighting) it would seem counter-intuitive to make the interior brighter for the lights to pop out less

Pros:

- Makes interior feel a bit bigger and spacious

- Gives a bit more "luxurious" feel, especially when you are able to close and open at will. (there's some added pleasureness to be able to so, a bit similar feeling for me when using Home Assistant and just pressing a button to turn on the AC from the dashboard)

- Possibly makes the exterior slightly nicer looking? (unsure)

This is is the thing I dislike with being able to spec your own, just too many things to think about, easier when you are given a car that's just been imported and it's either take it or leave it and then you take the option you are unsure about as it comes...

@RPGWiZaRD - I agree with your friends and family; don’t pick it. As the saying goes; ‘what you’ve never had, you never miss’.

Another couple of ‘Cons’ to add to your list;

• If you’re unfortunate enough to have a panoramic roof that creaks and rattles (some of them do), those creaks and rattles can be very difficult - if not impossible - to eliminate. That would drive me crazy and IMHO a creaking and rattling roof panel would certainly spoil the ownership experience.
• Longer term, the roof panel drain pipes can also become blocked. If this happens, instead of water draining to the outside of the car, it can drain into the car’s interior.

I have had cars with a sunroof in the past - before the days of cars having air con. The last car I owned that had a sunroof was nearly 25 years ago. Have I ever missed not having one since then? Absolutely not.

Thanks, this was the "push" I needed I think. I think the saying "what you've never had, you never miss" is a good one to apply here, is better for future in mind in case I'd have actually enjoyed the panoramic roof for whatever reason, I don't know what I'm missing out on and won't miss or need next time it's time for a new car either if the model doesn't happen to come with one.

Well I'll jump firmly on the other side of the argument tbh.

Each of my last 5 cars have had one and its the first thing on my wish list.

I sat in one in Gloucester Cupra that had the panroof and it does make the interior feel larger and brighter. Its a shame it doesnt open but that in itself makes it simpler and less prone to issues.

Yeah I ordered a VZ extreme in Plasma with the panroof.
I'm not in a rush as it isnt replacing anything, id just like to track its progress and I'm running out of videos to watch on youtube....watching all the auto dubbed ones now

I was literally watching this one when you posted it haha. Besides the tests my attention was drawn to the 18" rims with the bright accents, first time I've seen those and I think it looks actually pretty nice with Fiord Blue. The other 18" ones that are similar but without the bright accents looks far far worse to me. But with VZ it's not even possible to pick those 18" ones eitherway. I like how the Fiord Blue looks in this video too, the more "greenish" tone the better, sometimes it looks more bleak blue'ish, sometimes more almost like a dark grey green and then it looks very nice. Guess I'll have to wait n see what it ends up like in real life haha.

At 1:07 the logo becomes a flying shuriken.

Nothing fancy but this should be the first Fiord Blue with midnight black roof posted as well as the first look of the "Pulse" entry level upholstery. I was long debating with myself whether to go midnight black roof with Fiord Blue or not as it was a 400€ extra here to do so but I'm kind of glad I didn't pick it with Fiord Blue as I'm not that much into it personally, I do think the black roof works better with Plasma paint though and with that option I wouldn't mind it.

Exactly what I have on order, Fjord blue works well with the 18 Defier anthracite wheels and black roof is a no cost option in the UK and with the black A pillar and black strip on the C pillar gives the floating roof effect and breaks the colour up. The V2 Launch Edition I had worked better in Plasma with the copper wheels though.
