Wake up early for supermarket shopping on Saturday. Got into the car and infotainment (Full Link) failed to connect to Android Auto (again).

Hard reset it and got connected, drove off and found the yellow triangle on the dash, and center console showed "Auto start/stop not working".

Checked with my OBDII scanner, showing fault codes P164700 & U105400. Tried clear codes but only the latter one had gone.

Drove for 7 miles for Tesco, re-scanned during loading my shoppings to the boot, P164700 was still there. Tried clearing it the 3rd time, successful at last.

Checked Google Gemini, it pointed to the infotainment reset which had momentarily cut off the communication between the infotainment system and the ECU, resulted in these fault codes.

VAG vehicles just being lovely, as always....

Have you had the PV4 software update done?

The infotainment reset is nothing to do with it.

I can't stress enough to people that AI can't accurately diagnose faults, will send you down the completely wrong path and end up costing you time and money.

Thanks James.

First (inspection) service booked for late November. I had deliberately asked them to look at the 90Z1 / PV4-RC, they acknowledged but not sure if they will really look into it or not, just told me 2 days' work is scheduled.

The update rectifies the P164700 fault.
Noted with Thanks.

How about the code U105400? It was the 3rd time with this fault code arises - 1st time in mid June, after the low lubricant warning; 2nd time in late August after another Infotainment blank screen/reset.

I see that code all the time, it has no impact on the operation of the vehicle and can be induced by simply resetting the infotainment system.

The infotainment system will be updated as part of the PV4 package.
