What updates do you expect? One simple question to you: would you ever buy a vw product ever? What is then the difference to a chinese vehicle? On one of those I would expect it to fail, but on a vw product? Unacceptable.

Regardless of where a vehicle is designed or built - sometimes the manufacturer gets it right and sometimes they get it wrong.

Considering how many 1.5TSI units were sold, this issue appears to have only affected a comparatively small portion of vehicles across VWG.

I would now struggle to buy a VW product, my 1.5 was stating to knock on start up and rock because of which it's now sold, my wife's and a friends 1.4 NA Ibiza's some years back both suffered from when plasma linings were applied to the linings which wore off resulting in new block, one sold and my mate just kept running his but it was rough, so to much doubt for me..

The old 1.4 never had plasma sprayed cylinder linings through!
Even the recent 1.4 EA211 has iron liners. Just the new 1.5 has fancy plasma coated liners.
