Passenger window switch replacement - coding required?

I replaced a broken window switch, passenger side. Switch is from Topran. Correctly installed - no response!
I seem to remember reading somewhere that a new switch would require coding. Can anyone throw any light on this?

Window switches don't need coding.

The passenger switches (front and both rears) are all the same. You could swap the switches around to see if you still have the issue.
