As you can see from the pictures my glove box wont close properly.

Looking at the latches the left hand one seems to stick out far more than the right hand one

I've tried pulling it with some pliers with no success. Anyone got any other ideas?

I‘d hazard a guess that something has either become detached or the latching mechanism has broken inside the glovebox lid.

If it’s not possible to dismantle the glovebox lid to get at the mechanism inside to see if a repair’s possible, then the fix is likely to be a replacement glovebox lid. If the lid isn’t available as a separate part then (costly?) replacement of the complete glovebox is probably necessary ?; if so, then maybe a replacement could be sourced from a breakers yard?

I had the same thing and it took a good pull with pliers. It felt like it was going to break but it clicked out eventually.

Interior build quality on these new cars is shocking. My mk1 glovebox is still rock solid after 24 years.

I had a similar issue, and I just pressed hard on the side that was sticking out more, heard a crack, and that sorted the issue. Both latches were then the same length.

I cannot thank you enough! I used a tiny bit of force to push in the left side latch and almost instantly I heard a click and now the latch on the right is fully opening to it's full length and the glovebox will close properly again! This has been bugging me for weeks now and such a simple fix.
