This guide is provided for general information only. Features, menus and mirror behaviour may vary by model, specification and software version. Always check your vehicle handbook or speak to an authorised CUPRA or SEAT retailer if unsure.
Following these steps ensures your passenger mirror tilts down when reversing, improving visibility of the kerb. Adjust the knob back to the neutral position if you no longer want the mirror to dip, or switch to the heating icon to demist the mirror.
1. Turn on the feature in settings
- Switch the ignition on.
- Go to Vehicle → Exterior → Mirrors on the infotainment system and enable the kerb‑side mirror dip or “Mirror Dip” function.
2. Select the correct mirror
- For UK (right‑hand‑drive) cars: Move the mirror‑adjustment knob to “L” (selects the left door mirror, which is the kerb‑side).
- For left‑hand‑drive cars: Move the knob to “R” (selects the right door mirror).
3. Store the dipped position
- With the knob set to the kerb‑side mirror, select reverse.
- Use the adjustment switch to tilt the mirror down until you can see the kerb or parking lines clearly.
- Shift out of reverse; the mirror’s new position is now stored in memory.
4. Use the dip when reversing
- Leave the adjustment knob in the kerb‑side position (L for RHD, R for LHD).
- When you select reverse, the mirror automatically moves to the stored dipped position.
- Once you drive forward and exceed about 9 mph, it returns to its normal setting.
5. Additional notes
- Heating vs dipping: CUPRA and many Volkswagen‑Group vehicles use the same knob for heating and dipping. You can’t have the mirrors heated and dipped simultaneously; selecting the heating icon disables the dip.
- Memory seats: If your car has seat/mirror memory buttons, storing the dipped position in your profile will keep the setting tied to your key or user profile.
