This guide explains how to connect your phone to a CUPRA Formentor using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The process can be done either with a USB cable or wirelessly, depending on your phone and vehicle settings.
For this guide, we are using the wireless connection method.
Tap Full Link and the system will show the available options for connecting your phone, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
If no phone has been connected before, the screen may show a message such as No known Full Link devices.
If no devices are currently paired, the list will be empty. You should also see the car’s device name displayed. This is the name your phone will look for when pairing.
When the car’s name appears on your iPhone, tap it to begin pairing.
Check that the numbers match.
On your iPhone, tap Pair.
On the CUPRA screen, confirm by tapping Yes.
Your iPhone may then ask whether you want to connect to CarPlay. Tap Connect.
If prompted to choose between Bluetooth and CarPlay, select CarPlay.
You can now use compatible apps such as:
To return to Apple CarPlay at any time, simply tap CarPlay from the menu.
From the CUPRA screen:
The menu will return from CarPlay or Android Auto back to Full Link, allowing you to connect a new device.
If wireless connection does not work, try connecting with a USB cable first.
If the pairing fails, remove the device from both the car and the phone, then start the process again.
For Apple CarPlay, check that CarPlay is enabled on your iPhone under Settings > General > CarPlay.
For Android Auto, make sure Android Auto is installed and up to date if required by your phone.
Once connected, the system will remember your phone, making it quicker to reconnect next time.

Step 1: Open Full Link on the CUPRA Screen
From the CUPRA Formentor home screen, look for Full Link.Tap Full Link and the system will show the available options for connecting your phone, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Step 2: Check Device Management

Step 3: Check Bluetooth Visibility
If you need to check or change the car’s Bluetooth settings:- Go to Settings on the car’s infotainment screen.
- Open the Bluetooth settings.
- Make sure Visibility is switched on.
- Check the Device Name.
Step 4: Connect an iPhone Using Apple CarPlay
On your iPhone:- Open Settings.
- Go to General.
- Tap CarPlay.
- Wait for the CUPRA to appear in the list of available vehicles.
When the car’s name appears on your iPhone, tap it to begin pairing.
Step 5: Confirm the Pairing Code
A pairing code will appear on both the car screen and your phone.Check that the numbers match.
On your iPhone, tap Pair.
On the CUPRA screen, confirm by tapping Yes.
Your iPhone may then ask whether you want to connect to CarPlay. Tap Connect.
If prompted to choose between Bluetooth and CarPlay, select CarPlay.
Step 6: Use Apple CarPlay
Once connected, Apple CarPlay will open on the CUPRA infotainment screen.You can now use compatible apps such as:
- Maps
- Phone
- Messages
- Music
- Podcasts
- Other supported CarPlay apps
To return to Apple CarPlay at any time, simply tap CarPlay from the menu.
Connecting Android Auto
The process for Android Auto is very similar.From the CUPRA screen:
- Open Full Link.
- Select Android Auto.
- Follow the pairing instructions on your Android phone.
- Confirm any Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or Android Auto prompts shown on the phone and the car screen.
How to Disconnect or Remove a Phone
If you want to remove a connected phone from the CUPRA Formentor:- Go to Settings on the infotainment screen.
- Select Network.
- Open Mobile Devices.
- Find the phone or CarPlay/Android Auto connection in the list.
- Select the device.
- Choose the option to remove or forget the device.
The menu will return from CarPlay or Android Auto back to Full Link, allowing you to connect a new device.
Troubleshooting Tips
If your phone does not appear, check that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your phone.If wireless connection does not work, try connecting with a USB cable first.
