Check the coil pack hasnt just popped off due to pressure, remove the engine cover and check to see if they are all seated correctly, or if in doubt just pull them all off and refit them making sure they go on right, retry it, like said tho most probs a coil pack

ok ill revise my statement to 99% a coilpack lol... my last coilpack (2 actually) went when comin off a roundabout and went in 2nd and then it felt like it went into limp mode, then started runnin like a cylinder down,

i like the 'exhaust smelt like fire' statement, hehe

yeah its a coilpack, or it could be that a spark plug disintergrated and you need a new engine.............lol
soz thats what happened to me by the way and ollys right the hose on the turbo does pop off but when that happened the car wouldnt tick over so my guess is also coilpack but when they say its 99% a coilpack the other 1% of instances still occur!

i really wouldnt worry too much though

Annoying thread title!:censored:

I looked in because I was worried you could be in the act of being gang raped by some big musclebound guys that had just escaped from prison.

You've got everyone's attention now - but you haven't even bothered replying to the helpful people. :rollyeyes? :ban:

very diy, however you need to know which coil has failed (if forsure one has failed). Vagcom can tell you this if you have access to it. otherwise you'd have to swap them round until its back to normal.

just remove the stuff on top of the engine which is held by 3 long bolts, unclip the connector and pull up hard on the coil. pop the new one in make sure its pushed in properly and reassembled.

if you want to be safe, pick up a bolt down type from euro car parts and bolt it in so it cannot rise up. they are also cheaper than an oe part from vw/audi/seat etc
