Hi guys

Had a good search but I can't find much in the way of info on this. I have the moving rear washer jet issue, so I have stripped the tailgate and taken the wiper motor out. I've taken the back cover off and the washer jet feedpipe and i'm not sure if there is still a piece of pipe stuck in the spindle. Has anyone had this problem and taken any photos or doeas anyone have a a photo of the repair kit?

yes i have the same problem sort of ,when you wash the back window my jet only flows at about 2inch of water...

the rest pours into the boot behind seat badge/boot handle.

mine seems to be leaking in that bit of pipe or little black elbow joiner,on the bottom of motor.

i need some help too.

had this problem a while back, sounds like the copper/brass tube through middle of motor is broke. new motor is one fix £50-£60. or seem to remember there is a fixing kit available, not sure from where though,

Slim sounds like you have exactly the same problem as me, I've taken the back cover off of the motor and the brass pipe has snapped, just needs a replacement brass pipe which i think is the repair kit. Will try to take some photos

Have managed to speak to my Seat dealership today, and asked about the repair i've seen mentioned about £25 gave no description or picture on his system. I then rang my local VW dealer who said there was no kit and it would need to be a brand new motor. Until i gave him the part number of the repair kit, to which he said he could order one as they don't stock it. He seemed a little shocked as I was more informed than he was. Will order one from VW as the dealership is about 10 miles closer than the nearest Seat dealership.

Slim the part number is

8L0 998 711

You should be able to get it from Seat or VW, don't let a VW dealer say you can't get a repair kit like mine did, he soon found it when i quoted the part number. Ordered mine today and is being delivered over night. I've put the motor back in for the time being luckily I did as it's been tipping it down all day. I'll pick the kit up first thing tomorrow and let you know what is in it and take some pics. Mines broken about 10mm from the washer jet.

i take it you need to remove the rear wiper blade?
Is it just a matter of remove the nut on the wiper arm?
i tried loosening it earlier and it wouldn't budge.... i'll order one of these tomorrow!

Hi Cupra

It would seem a number of us are having this problem, there are about 3 or 4 threads running on this broken brass pipe/leaking washer/boot trim issue and to be honest I think we are trousers down/wet/wind in face kinda territory - myself included!!!

I think we would really appreciate a "how to do" plus some pictures from getting the trim off to ordering the part and everything!! Having priced it up with a new trim plus motor this could stretch into £150 mark so its an expensive mistake to make.

Any help would really be of some benefit if you could find the time.

Thanks for any posts you make buddy.

Nope, you need to remove inner tailgate trim and wiper arm (13mm nut). You then need to unbolt the 3x10mm nuts inside which attach the wiper motor to the tailgate.

On the motor itself there are 6-8 Torx screws, remove these and give the back plate a tug to separate it from the gasket. Re-assemble is the reverse of this. I washed out the brass tube and poked around with a needle and also removed the jet itself to clean.

My brass tube wasn't snapped, but it was leaking during use, so I wound some PTFE tape around the outer tube, up over the top and round again, then pierced the brass tube through the PTFE tape. Re-assembled and it's been perfect for the past 2 months or so. I've left my parcel shelf and boot trim off to keep an eye on it, and it hasn't leaked since :)
