The coolant pump is underneath just in front of the sump and beside the rigid intercooler to engine pipe.
Very common on 2009 cars.
What years yours?
If you check the number on the side of your original pump and Google it you'll buy a genuine delivered from Germany for about £90
A genuine from the dealers or Tps is about £140

Car is safe to drive and it's nothing to do with the temp sensor.
It's the after run coolant pump which circulates coolant when you turn the key off.
Depending on engine temp whether it's needed or not.
Ok short term but don't forget about it

Can't remember the code but the description is something like
Secondary coolant circuit open circuit

It's worth a look at the connection but it'll be fine.
If you try to remove the whole bracket it's a pain
If you remove the 3 torx screws it's a 15 minute job.
Although 1 of the screws I gripped with vice grips to remove as there's no room to get a bit on it.
Once the undertrays off you'll see it's straight forward

Just had undertray off and disconnected pump. When reconnecting I dont think it the plug was clipped in properly. Ive cleared fault and have started car 5 or 6 times in last 2 hours with no eml on .... yet ! Would this fault hsppen straight away or reappear in time
The fault will return next time the ecu wants to run the pump.
Usually after a long run when coolant temps high.
Wouldn't get excited as it will return.

The pump seizes in the housing.
I personally wouldn't waste money. I'd get the number from your original pump and source a genuine one and between parts and labour save yourself £150
