Finally traded in my 2006 sty lance for a 2013 1.4 fr. Car is fantastic but the speakers are not great. Any recommendations for after market speakers and a guide on how to swap them?

Also, has anyone replaced the plastic hubcaps on the 18 inch wheels as mine are black plastic and look terrible.

Thanks

Would be interesting to see a guide for doing the speakers, been debating it for a while but a bit hesitant to give it a go myself first. Also, black hub caps? Do you mean centre caps

Speakers are 4 x torx screws and a single connector block. Door cards are also pretty easy to remove. Wouldn't' be too hard if you can get a good fitting replacement.

I soundproofed the area around my speakers and TBH they are much better as I too was very disappointed with the sound quality - awful resonance in the passenger side. I'm pleased with them now.

Don't suppose you'd be able to get any pictures? I wouldn't know where to start, I think a guide on here would be much appreciated

Damn, I was hoping you could just remove the speakers covers as per the mk2 leon and snip the tweeters, oh well.

Yes, the hub caps that cover the alloy wheel locking nuts. Mine are black plastic but have got a white residue all over them and wonder if there was anything better they could be replaced with.

Here are pics for removing front and rear door trim

Thank you for this post - a very useful post - will be very helpful to me as want to have a go at additional soundproofing.

Any more instructive diagrams like this would make a good sticky post.

simmo1 -

I was thinking about removal of the boot area and the tailgate trim panels in addition to your post re the door card pics.

Thank you

Where can you get the tool from?

Also has anyone replaced the black wheel nut caps as mine have a white chalk on them that doesn't want to clean off and looks terrible.
