What values would I be looking for when checking pre/post lambda probes?
Check voltages with 36/33 or should I use one of the other blocks?
Not sure of the values to be looking for either...
Evening all..
How's everyone? Ive got a new problem which my local garage have decided in their infinite wisdom to disclose after letting me go buy a new catalytic converter, God but how slowly we learn in situations like this... Now they tell me I may also need a new Lambda Sensor. Quite why...
Is there a way of finding out im my lambda sensor is gone using VAG-COM?
The car has just passed the MOT without any problem and when I checked for any faults and there was 1 leak in the system. Rendiness (how ever it spelt) came up with all ok and no faults but now tonight I checked it again...
after replacing the post lambda sensor after it was totaly buggered.
fitted the new in and the car was fine for a few days.
then the fault keep cuming up:
17522 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor: B1 S2: Internal Resistance too High
P1114 - 35-00 - -
i cleared it but keeps coming back...
Well just scanned the car for the first time in a few weeks and low and behold I got some fault codes;
16804 - Catalyst System; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold
17526 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating; B1 S2: Open Circuit
17522 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B1 S2: Internal Resistance too...
Does anyone know where I can get a Lamba Blanking Plug from like the scooby one in the link.

Its for a 1.4 AEX exhaust manifold, does anyone know if the 1997 AEX was fitted with a lamba sensor ?
I've been trawling the internet for a part number for the primary (front) lambda sensor on the AUQ 1.820VT engine, but am struggling.
Can anybody help as I have a mate who may be able to get one on the cheap, but needs the number?!
Thanks
Will you always get a fault code if one of the Lambda probes is failing?
Reason i ask....
Logged my MAF readings the other day. Was only seeing 130g/s, but the car still pulls hard and goes really well.
I've since tried 2 new MAFs. I've logged them and seen higher values...
Got this fault code keep coming up:
17524 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating; B1 S1: Open Circuit
Is this the pre-cat probe, is it shagged? can it be repaired?
cheers
Hello all, I've recently had these two faults thrown up on the ECU, no engine warning lights etc, runs fine......
16518 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1: No Activity
P0134 - 35-00 - -
17524 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating; B1 S1: Open Circuit
P1116 - 35-00 - -
Is this a classic sign of...
Lambda sensor cheat and de-cat
I had my Leon Cupra (AUQ) jacked up on ramps at the weekend to check if it had a lambda sensor after the cat (considering de-cating) - and sure enough it does.... although it looks more like the lambda sensor is IN the CAT - with one other pre-cat sensor...
Is there anything that I can log in vagcom that will showup a dead/dying lambada sensor.
Theres no fault codes stored. MAF is 2 months old and gives expected values. My fuel consuption is awful and its been suggested that a lambada sensor my be at fault.
Ta :)
cars now had 4 lambda sensors in total in a year odds, the first two fixed the problem but since going through a puddle im getting the lambda malfunction error code and engline light on, last time i ran vagcom the sensor both pre and post seemed to be giving signals (whether they are correct or...
Right looks like i need to get a new Lambda sensor.
Question is do i have to buy the seat one or can i use a generic. Does anyone know how many wires they have and what type they are? i believe there are 2 types Zirconia sensors and Titania sensors.
cheers col
