Ok, so my driver side window dont work.. I press the switch and i can hear the motor whirring, but the window doesn't move, its just sitting there, almost closed. Is it just the regulator i will need to replace or will the motor need to be done as well?

manual window winder cable has snapped so i am unable to wind the window up or down. the window can be opened by sliding it down, but only goes half way. would i be able to change the winder cable or would the whole regulator have to be changed? any help would be appreciated 1994 mk2 ibiza
