Well folks now that the ibiza cupra has gone I am on the look out for a red LCR

I have a maximum of £10k to spend and I dont really wanna go over 40k miles on the car

Ideally i'd like to pay £9k for one and spend the rest on a few mods.

Is the Recaro interior that much better than the standard seats???

Whats the best mods to go for first instead of a remap???

Cheers

I seen that one but I personally think its a bit over priced

For example sixpots old LCR was up for £12k but its had an absolute huge amount of mods on it. The wheels cost £2.5k on there own.

I would love to buy one with a few sensible mods already saving me a bit of cash for other things but ideally £9k max for a standard low mileage one

It is a kinda wanted post BUT I was wondering if people could tell me what are the best "first off" mods to do to one???

Something like the uprated dogbone (I think) mount, I take it thats a must to have even on the standard car???

The first thing i'd like to do is lower it slightly as I personally think the car sits a bit high as standard but whats the best kit out there for the money???

I take it coilovers are the way to go but is there any fitting issues with them and what make are best for handling/ride comfort etc

Honestly, if your looking to mod the car I would go for as cheap as car as possible. If you look at my signature what mods I've done this has not changed the car dramatically. The only one I would not have fitted (till later) if I did it again would be the FMIC. This I would have either bought a Piper system or a good coilover set.
If I were in your position I'd buy a cheap LCR with a good body and mod it sensibily with the money left over and not worry too much about mileage. These cars ARE built to last.
I've spent £2,000 on bits without the fitting. This has subtly changed the car.
With springs and shocks, DP, sports cat and remap this would make a very good car that would keep you happy for a long time.
So for all my mods plus ones I'd like to do you'd be £3,500. Depending on what you want to do of course.

Actually yes, that's why I asked. :D

Worst mod ever!, m0rk never asks. His decision is swift and brutal and n00bs fear him :p

Eck, your gonna have to decide what you want more standard or modded. Cars like Sixpots with as many mods left on and as much care to detail and loving ownership, rarely come up for sale.

regarding recaros v standard, - they are not alot different (certainly in appearance) and it really depends how big you are. (no not your c0ck). Recaros being a bit more snug. However i think the Recaro do have adjustable lumbar where as the standard LCR seats dont. I would visit some dealer and try them out. Its quite personal, if the recoaros 'fit' you then they are great.
The rear recaros are very rare.

If you spend 9,000 i would say your mods would be:
forge 007p DV. £80ish
Remap - £300-£550
Dog bone mount - £50-100 fitted? (depending whether you chane the bush or whole mount)
Coilovers OR ARBs £450

Then when the pads needs replacing got ferrodo. (lots of info on here).
ALternativiely, save some money and find a nice example already modded.

Thanks for the help folks.

This car is goin to last me a minimum of 5 years so it will have to be a low mileage example so that it lasts lol

I was thinkin of coilovers (any info on what makes best for £500), ARBs OR a good exhaust system including sport cat down pipe then save up later on for a remap and FMIC at the same time.

Also what works best on these, open cone filter or smoothed OEM air box with green filter???

Is the TIP the same ones as the Ibizas or are they different shapes???

I already have a set of 6K HIDs waiting in the house to be fitted so thats one mod done lol

As said before Eck, depends on what you want out of your car.
Do you want a car that handles very well, a car that doesn't handle well but looks good, do you want a fast car with dodgy handling or do you want a car with good handling that is fast aswell??
According to your old car spec you want a faster car that looks and sounds good

eck i would stongly recomend spending a little time using the search facillity on the site as
you will find numerous threads on suspension and exhaust

Junior - Your right mate, I want a car that handles as well as being very quick, bit of a tall order but with £10k to spend surely its within reach

*shameless plug*
I believe the Recaro's are the N-Joy and I have some for sale..front only and purchased as Recaro's, not from a Seat
*end plug*

I would recommed lowering onto coilovers as you suggest, and have been tempted to look into the dogbone mount people here have been doing. What about HIDs?
