Hey guys.

Bought myself a new fuel filter today, and I've a new MAF on order (priced at trade @ £65 inc VAT) which will be here Monday. So I'll fit that as well.

Fingers crossed.

I'm going to jack the car now and fit the new filter!

Thanks for the advice guys.

Will let you know.

Fitted the fuel-filter. Old one was hole/blemish free. Just dirty.

The car is now making some screwy noises. It sounds as though there is a squirrel in my alternator. Seriously. It's chattering loudly, off and on. Even when warm, or after a spin the dynamo still makes this odd noise.

There is also now a nice tappy noise coming from the engine in general.

I think I need this badboy VAG-COM tested. Is it feasible that these issues, i.e. low MPG, tappy engine and of course, this cool new squirrel sound are all due to water sender and MAF problems?
