I must admit I have just ordered an Abarth 600e Competizione 280 in white for late Sept - two year private lease deals on them are just too good to miss (3+23 @ £226 6K) scratches my itch for a proper electric hot hatch. Still love the Raval, but don't want to buy blind without comparing trims and colour in the flesh. I also love the ID Polo GTi and want to compare both properly as and when discounts to kick in. Also now changing jobs, so I cannot use car scheme but get a car allowance. I may well look to use the car scheme with my new employer when the Abarth comes to an end either for a Raval or ID Polo GTI.

I’m with you on not buying a completely new model of car ā€˜blind’ - it’s not something I’d do.

I do quite like the Abarth and IMHO it looks good in white. I also like the fact that it’s not another unnecessarily oversized SUV. It made me smile to see that Abarth has given it ā€˜eyelids’ on the headlights to add some character to its ā€˜face’.

I look forward to hearing how get on with it once you’ve taken delivery later in the year.

Thanks, yes the Raval looks very colour sensitive, not sure if white even suites it, same with the interior especially the seats and how they look and feel. Whilst a bit plasticky interior wise (part Jeep Avenger) the electric bucket seats are amazing and the steering wheel feels really special. It is more hatch then SUV being based on the FIAT 600e but lowered 25 mm.

This is a question about range if Cupra quote a 280miles is that from 100% to 0% watching many car reviews online the car journalists always quote charging times from 10-80%, I'm assuming this is for battery health, but this will also mean the range is 30% less or am I missing something ?

Yes that is 0-100% as the battery will have an additional buffer so 0 is not totally flat. Raval is 52kWh usuable and 56kWh total.

I was initally not considering Matrix LEDs at all being a 900€ option if speccing my own car (VZ model) but I now saw there's another option here for the VZ model only, the "Rebel Pack" that includes:

- Matrix LEDs
- Smartlight 2.0 interior lights
- Electric adjusted front seats with memory settings for driver seat
- Lumbar adjustment support
- Mirror memory settings
This for an extra 1300€

However I also want to pick the Light & Sound pack which costs only 410€ instead of 950€ when also picking Rebel Pack as it also includes Smartlight 2.0 so basically it's 410€ for the upgraded Sennheiser sound system if picking both these options.

So this means I could get the Matrix LEDs + the lumbar support adjustment and driver seat & mirror memory feature for an extra 760€ with this config that is only available with the VZ model instead of just separately paying 900€ for only the Matrix LED option as a standalone add-on.

I'm a bit 50/50 if I should get the Rebel Pack or not for the Matrix LEDs in particular as I have no experience of Matrix LEDs previously either so I'm worried whether I'd find the constantly adapting light distracting or not. I don't really drive a lot in the dark or outside town for that matter so not sure how much extra it's going to be worth paying for Matrix LEDs for me. If I was regularly driving outside town in the dark I would likely do it but it's quite seldom. But for 760€ I feel it's quite little extra to pay for Matrix LEDs and lumbar support adjustment and memory driver seat settings (don't likely going to need the last one, maybe could use two different settings in case of an adult has to sit right behind me or not like I did with my Mazda 3 that also had memory seats).

What would you do, pay the extra 760€ or not, I'm pretty 50/50 on this one, the total sum for my own specced VZ model is already getting in the upper-end of what feels reasonable for this car (we're talking like ~37.800 eur before this option without including winter tires which is going to be like 2500€) but then again I didn't buy this car as a penny pinching smaller car but because it offers the stuff I specifically look for and maybe 760€ extra isn't really much to ponder about in the grand scheme of things...

I always splash the cash to get it fully specified. Depends how long you are going to keep it. If its like the Ateca at launch the options soon disappeared so any replacement car you couldn't buy the stuff.

I likely will keep it like 4-5 years only.

If you dont buy all the trimmings it may grind on what you may have missed out on, on that 5 year period especially if they start fitting things by default. Ateca they took away the superior mib2 high as an option subsequently you could only get that on the Cupra. Panoramic roof they did tricks on. So Cupra may filter up options now that you can't get in the future. Candy floss offer or ice cream sundy. The VZ marketing lift those desirable items into the next bracket. Goes both ways some may become regular in future models whilst other optional luxuries get removed from the price list. May be they use this for test marketing. Ie how many people really need two keys etc. With "tribe" marketing you take your punishment as customers 🤭.
