Hi all just after some info and feedback on changing the flywheel on my lcr, it's had a stage 2 remap and all the bits done but just want to no who's changed their fly and what you put on. I was looking at a helix clutch kit but have been told it will make the gear box noisy. I would be realy grateful for any input. cheers:)

All SMF's will make the GB noisier as it does away with the spring dampening of the OEM DMF.
Helix and southbend are supposed to be the better ones.
I have a SPEC stage 1 clutch with SMF and HATE IT!!

I woundn't change until you have to, as in slipping clutch.
As a mod it's self I wouldn't recommend it but if you need to change the clutch due to problems and you plan on upping the power at some point ie hybrid or big turbo then fit a SMF and uprated clutch.
If your not going for more power and the clutch slips just fit an OEM one with OEM DMF

Willie whats your views on sticking with the oem dual mass wheel and fitting an uprated sachs or south bend clutch plate to it. Higher power/ torque rating without the vibration and chatter issue.

I'd welcome it TBH.

As above I HATE my one and am looking for an excuse to throw mine in the bin
But a high mileage DMF is a ticking time bomb.
If I went for a uprated clutch with DMF I would either get the DMF inspected or fit a new one (these are expensive AFAIK)

There is a way to stop the chatter of the SMF by filling the GB with more GB oil through the speedo cable up to 1 litre more.
As advised by an Awesome technician

Is the uprated sachs clutch just an R32 one, as I believe the R32 clutch fits the LCR?

Can you swap clutches with different dual mass flywheels as I would of thought the flywheel would be matched to the clutch?
