I honestly can't see the point of this - why on earth would you bother? Is it just the sound? It's a lot to spend just for a whistling noise!
Be interested to hear if someone can give me an honest, engineering answer as to the benefit!

Yer just gives the turbo his a louder sound, personally I think it sounds pretty sporty/aggressive agree it expensive but I don't think there is much benefit other than if you we're to remap with a higher boost ect!

As for advantages; it helps the turpo spool up quicker by reducing the pressure. So less lag.
The theory is there although you probably won't notice it, if you do it will only be in 2nd i would say.

Well firstly I think the "tssss" sound you get from a dump valve in-between gears is probably the coolest sound in existence, so yes it is worth it just for that in my opinion
Secondly from a mechanical perspective they help the turbo veins to keep spinning between gears, in theory making progress faster and smoother.

I've read this from Forge Motorsport:
"This valve kit allows the fitment of a fast response blow off valve on the 1.2 TSi engine CBZA and CBZB as found in the Seat Ibiza, Toledo, Altea, Leon, VW Polo, Caddy, New Beetle, Jetta, Touran, Golf, Skoda Yeti, Fabia, Octavia and Audi A1, A3. As the engine does not have a diverter valve fitted as standard, this valve not only gives you an incredible loud sound when lifting off the throttle during gear changes, but will also improve the throttle response by reducing any lag, as it will help the turbocharger maintain its rotational speed ready for when you accelerate."
However, when talking to my mate who has a degree in motorsport engineering he said they are pretty much useless unless you have a big turbo and are actually looking at racing professionally.

Probably very true, but I'd still get one for the sound alone, in fact that'd be my main motivation
