Hi Loonymoon

Thanks for the info, seems odd its a new turbo as they usually go bang and thats it mr AA gave me a code of P388B which is related to cam overlap but also adds unburnt fuel to the cat its likely the new turbo could be different from the one it replaces so fuel air ratio is more balanced resulting in correct combustion
and hopefully no errors just JOY

Cheers Dom

It does seem odd - it wasn't at all what I expected - as it was running fine with no noticeable problems. They way they explained it to me was just that even if something minor started to go wrong with the turbo it might throw the errors......... so maybe nothing major just enough to cause the faults.... but I may have been fobbed off as I didn't speak to the actual mechanic about it.... (and I know very little anyway about mechanics of complicated engines like this so they could tell me anything:blink:)

I was happy with the way they dealt with me, though I was waiting ALL day to find out if I could get a car of some sort. Couldn't believe it when she came back and said that the hire company didn't even have any.....! Still the Mii is pretty good for a change!

Got my car back today. They'd replaced the turbo yesterday and then tried to do a software update, but for some reason the car wasn't accepting it. Apparently they were working on it until late last night as I'd said I really needed it back as I'm a photographer and needed to fit a 3metre vinyl roll in my car for a shoot this afternoon I wasn't sure if it'd fit in the Mii... but in actual fact when I tried it, it fitted easily! More easily than in my Ibiza probably because there's a lot more headroom in the back of the Mii than the Ibiza SC!

Eventually they got the car to take the update and driving home it seemed fine... though it took some getting used to after having the automatic Mii for a week!!

One thing that has to be taken care of before going on a long road trip is the car. It must be in its best condition ta avoid any hassle. It always sucks when your vehicle breaks down, but it is specifically bad when it occurs right before your planned road trip. Good thing this site I came across helped me find a good deal and I am so happy so far with its performance..At Valparaiso Kennedy Mazda, you are guaranteed to get the best deal from the best dealership around your area.

Mine has been doing this too - also a 2011 1.2TSI Sport. I have searched the site but found nothing, until TTX pointed me to this thread. The first time mine went wrong was 2 weeks ago - the EPC light came on and it went into limp mode. It's the first time I've had anything go wrong with a car so I was a bit shocked (being female doesn't help, lol!) I pulled over, turned her off and back on again and it was fine until Monday when the light came on and it went limp 3 times in 9 miles. Yesterday I didn't drive anywhere but just switched the ignition on and had both EPC and engine management lights come on and stay on. Got in her to drive to work this morning, and although she revved really high at idle (2000rpm) when first started there were no lights on at all, all day. Mine is booked in at the garage tomorrow so hopefully there will be a code in there somewhere as nothing has been touched or reset.
