1.4 gearbox

i got a 1997 1.4 sxe and the gearbox has fell to bits. anyone know if a polo gearbox will fit also wheres the gearbox code on these

It will (assuming from a similar age)

It's an 085 gearbox type, rod change etc

Funny for it to fall to bits, normally it's the chocolate clutch that goes (change that too)

the bearings shattered and made a hole in the gearbox . strange really no noise then it sounded like a bag of nails. so will any 085 box off a 1.4 work
