Over the past month the poor 1.4 has started to have the common problems of starting in the wet.

The starter motor is doing its job but it just will not fire up - no spark?
Its parked facing up quite a steep hill on the drive into the weather that won't help.

Where do they normally get wet? Am I looking at leads and the dizzy? Everything looked worryingly dry to me this morning!

Please give me some help - have to try and fix this so my mum can get to work while I am working 12h shifts myself

Cheers
Ollie

If its happening only after wet weather, id put money on it being the coil. Just spray it with wd40 (think i used about half a can on mine and never had this problem return in over a year now).

Ollie.. give it a liberal spray with WD or similar.. my iold 1.4 was a swine fro just this.. altho I did fit a heavy duty battery to it near to the end of its time with me and it startrd on the turn every time ( turns out there was a duff cell in the battery , therefore not charging correctly..
