Hi all

Having got myself a polo tdi for my new daily car im ready to make a project of my 1.4 ibiza. Ive fitted the cam from the polo gt already and have my shopping list
as well as homemade manifold ready go for bike carbs.
I have a question on the beezas ignition system tho,how does the dizzy change the advance and what sensors etc control it?

Most folk get rid of their entire mpi system inc their ecu with bike carbs but im wanting to keep the ecu there, and just take off the whole inlet and tb keep the wiring for the efi there with the injector plugs sitting unused, and use my existing dizzy and ignition incase i change my mind later. Will i have any problems with the timing advance with the injector plugs and the throttle sensors being unplugged,or are they just used to alter fueling. Is there not weights inside the dizzy on this engine that does some kind of rough timing advance too?

cheers

It picks up from the engine speed sensor, TPS & vacuum as well to alter fuelling (it's narrowband)

I doubt it'll run at all if you disconnect

the inlet air vac and temp sensors should be able to incorp into my homebrew manifold fitting.
From my own experience i know pulling the tb multi plug when the engines running causes it to die but is this cause its just not getting the rite fuel requirements? with the bike carbs im hoping the dizzy will be ok as im effectively just replacing the injectors with another fuel source. dunno that much about the aex ign system
