Greetings to all seat lovers!
Sad thing happened to me, few days ago on the highway lose of power, white smoke, warning lights..Like Christmas. So, I got towed to the service. Diagnosis: Bad injector killed the piston.

Engine is 1.4 tdi BMS, 162 000km. Piston is kaput, cylinder has some damage, and injecotr (PD) is gone. Everything else is good, includig turbine. After some talk with service, and offer of 3k euro to rebuild my engine I decided to get a used one. Problem is that BMS engine is pain in the arse to find.

Is it possible to mount my engine head, with new injector, on engine block from other 1.4 tdi engine ,with different code? I want to avoid remaping. Should I put ned code of injector in the ECU?

Please help!

Anyone? Does engine block from any 1.4 tdi fits on BMS head and other parts, including turbo?

Long time has passed since my last post. I fixed the engine, but have another issue.

I need some help diagnosis the knocking sound from my engine.
It is 1.4 tdi, BMS, 59 kW. 14 months ago faulty injector caused piston to brake in half, damagind cylinder wall. Engine was rebulit, new piston, new rings, crankshaft was overhauled, neg big end bearing, new ca,shaft bearing and new crank bearings. One month after the overhaul, I started to notice knockig sound, fade at first only after changing gears when revs were droping and clutch was engaged. It lasted until last month, same sound, 4 mechanichs said it is normal, but the sound was not there before the injector catastrophy.

Since that, turbo was changed, and clutch last month. Since last week, noise got worse, now have metal knockin, deep, like subtle explosions around 2000 rpm whed accelerating. When clutch is engaged it is louder. Vibrations can be felt on the pedal (clutch), and are corespodenting the sound. If airfilter removed it sound like backfire (like worn camshaft). But, mpg is great, no loss of power, nothing!
Yesterday, 120 km/h, motorway, 4,4 l / 100 km.
I am puzzled.
What are my options? Camshaft and lifters? Oil pumo (chain)? Rod knock?

I have the video, but need 7 more post to post it :)

Update, yesterday knocking became progressivly worse, it was taken to the garage, and diagnosis is worn lobe on the camshaft. Possibly hole in the lifter, we will see tomorrow.

Here is the video while driving to the garage. It got really bad since day before, in like 100 km of driving..

All together, one lobe is gone. New cam, lifters, bearings and bolts. Will se how the engine will work then. Ofcourse, new oil and filter, but it will be done by myself this time.
