Hello everyone, this is my first post on the forum but actually i've been a long time reader. I own a Polo 9n 1.4tdi and would like to have the exhaust modified. I see that there is not a great number of 3 cylinder owners on the forum, although i am curious as to which pipe diameter i should go with. The exhaust shop recommends that i leave the diameter stock (51mm), but they also do 61mm stainless steel upon request. I know that 61 mm is the popular choice among the 1.9 tdi's, but would this be overkill for my engine? Any input greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I can't see the bigger bore will be a benifit or a gain. the downpipe would be the bottle neck for sure.

Would a 1.9 pd130 down pipe fit the 1.4? ifso ive got one for sale ;)

I think the gasket is probably going to be the same, but who knows on the rest.

Looking at the bits I don't think there's much wrong with the arosa one...

ok thanks for the responses. i guess i'm going to eliminate the restrictions in the exhaust path but leave the diameter stock. What's the diameter of the pd100 and pd130 exhaust systems? I always thought the milltek system that seems very popular was a larger bore than the original setup.
