1.4TSI hesitation at 4kRPM WOT

2014 plate, manual 1.4TSI 150ps, about 85K on the clock, FSH. It doesn't get driven hard much given local traffic, but occasionally when I put my foot down it pulls well and smooth to 4k hesitates a little then carries on. Does this regardless of driving mode, but only once on a given run, so if I try to recreate it'll pull straight through the revs. VCDS doesn't report any engine issues.
Any thoughts or ideas what might be causing this?

Nope still does it. VCDS is still reporting no problems.

Over a year later, up to about 84k miles on mine and the issue is still there. I get the occasional misfire code for cylinder 1 and 3 but nothing else.

I decided to pop the intake off and take a look at the intake valves. I think they may need a bit of a clean up but I'm not totally convinced its causing the issue.

I don't suppose you have found a fix?

Well its over a year later and up to 96k miles, the issue got slightly worse but not too much.

Its a CZEA engine, I took the intake off and gave the valves a good cleaning with some cable ties in the end of the drill and lots of carb cleaner. They came up looking good but the issue still persists.

I've managed to capture some data whilst the hesitation is in progress, from what I can see boost pressure is fine etc however the ecu is commanding a +21% short term fuel trim on top of +8% long term fuel trim for the duration of the hesitation which doesn't seem ideal. Not really my forte in terms of what that points to in terms of diagnostic, if anyone has any ideas where to look next I'm all ears
