I have an idea for a mates leon 1.8 20v sport N/A we are thinking of going down the throttle bodies route as he doesn't want a turbo, I am going big port head route on my LCR so i'll have a spare inlet manifold, fuel rail, injectors e.t.c
My basic idea is to cut down my old manifold and port the runners to suit and retain the LCR injectors then use 45mm GSXR throttle bodies modify the throttle position sensor spindle to fit the throttle bodies.
I'll be retaining the stock ignition system, injection and ecu so with a custom map and a free flowing exhaust and manifold i see no reason this wouldn't make reasonable power 170-200 BHP.
Can anyone think of any pitfalls with this idea/know anyone who has put T.B's on a 20v and what they had to do?

If there is not a kit out there to do it the problems I can see is you are doing the r&d so to speak and with anything that is done first time there will be issues that need to sort or things you may need to do differently. Could work out expensive or could just drop straight on? Who knows?

Yep it can be done and has been, masses of information on vwvortex.com :)

People have done the 1.8 20v on ITBs and also made what is known as a 20/20 - 2.0 block with 20V head, on ITBs. :)

Start reading through some of the threads in VWVortex ITB Forum and you'll get all you want to know.
