1.9 tdi se 130 Timing Belt

Hi all,
Does anyone know how much a dealer would charge for a 60k timing belt change? Is it much of a job? I know some timing belts are worth keeping away from

Get yourself a nice gates timing belt kit and you can either do it yourself or take it to a garage you trust or find someone else you can trust to do it. I can get a guide for doing the belt on a PD engine if needed.

Yeh no worries, it's for a jetta but it's still the same setup regarding the belt. You need to join up for part 2 but it's free and it's a handy place for tdi stuff.

The 1.9 PD130 in the Cordoba/Ibiza won't be a BEW engine. They are ASZ/BLT.

Of course it's not a BEW but that doesn't matter to much, it's still a PD and the guide still works.

Same as the ALH, AGR, ASV etc can all use the same guide, AFN, AHU, 1Z can all use the same guide etc

Yeh pretty much, there's like four groups of these tdi engines, there's the early ones like the AHU etc, then the next gen like the ALH etc then onto the PD's and finally we're onto the common rail or CR type. You get small changes like the ASV for instance is a 110 and has some extra oil cooling for the pistons, the AFN is also a 110 but it's the turbo, injectors and map that are different. The actual physical side of things regarding the timing though are pretty much the same for each group.
