Hi folks, just joined and have a problem that needs an answer, hope you can help....

Bought an 04 Toledo 110 TDi about 6 weeks ago, today there was a distinct lack of power after i pulled out of the house as if there was no turbo assistance at all in any gear at any rev, and persisted until this evening when I got power back again.

Think it may be a faulty boost controller but comming from a 16v Mk2 golf im not that well up on Derv technology lol

Many thanx!!!

could be your MAF

Unplug it and try driving if its the same then its your MAF(Mass air flow sensor)
Forgot to plug mine in once after tinkering and wow its like driving a real tractor lol

cheers mate, didnt even occour to me to look at the airflow meter connections.

Out to the cold we go then..........

its me who started the had enough thread, i will let the tdi forum know how i get on

if you squeeze your boost pipe on top left hand corner of engine bay whilst someone revs the car the pipe should force your hand apart. if this happens it won't be your turbo or any related valve it will more than likley be your air flow meter.

did the car have lack of power or was it just hesitating before giving you power?

that happened to me but i just turned the car off n then waited 5 mins started it up again and then it was sweet as a nut

Sorry folks never got back to you, busy busy and all that.

Havn't had any problems since, actually seem to have a bit more go after 3000 revs. Not going to go near it again unless i need to as i have a history of "fixing" things that aint broke.
