I see! I misunderstood your wording.

I thought you meant the 1k difference will also give you the budget for better brakes and suspension, not that it won't. If you see what I mean.

You'd have to have alot 'dodgy' contacts to get them at that price :D

and a 6 speed box

The old PD130 Sports have the same gear ratio's as the PD100 Sport between 1st-5th so minus the extra bit of mpg. Also the PD130 Sports due to the long gear ratio's actually hit its top speed in 5th gear. 6th was simple for mpg figures only.

However, once remapped and pushing near 180bhp a PD130 Sport should be able to hit its top speed in 6th gear, and not in 5th due to the extra power. This all depends on weather conditions and other factors.

With the car being an SE and in great nick I think I would be daft to chop it in for a 130 when the diffrence isnt that much. Plus as Tspark says its a project for me. Coming months should see a FMIC, Turbo back exhaust, injectors, turbo, remap and hopefully some TT 225 brakes and hubs.

Obviously its going to cost me a fair bit, but for the effort saved on looking for the car and the hassel. Its not going to work out that much diffrent also considering the price I paid for the car in the first place.

HEHE all this car talk has got me racking my bank balance.

Oh yeah Guinness, don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking what you are doing. I kinda wish I had the time/money/inclination to have a car that I could work on as a bit of a project and do up as I wanted to.

I do a lot of commuting though (1st year I put 30k+miles on my Sport) and I can't afford for it to be unreliable, have it off the road while doing bits to it etc. That's really why I am still in two minds about the re-map. I can take a hit of a few mpg, but can't afford to have problems with the clutch or any other longer term reliability problems potentially caused by a remap. I wouldn't wanna fork out for a remap and find in 2 weeks time I need to spend £750 on a new clutch!
Am still tempted though. Might see if I get a bonus in a few months and re-consider!

mate, Im one of these people that shop around a hell of a lot lol. The clutch is on allards website, its not a clutch just a pressure plate. Which they assure me will handle 330lb torque.
