Am very close to getting the ibiza FR or Cupra, i know as far as dubs are concerned people recommend the 130 over the 150 what about the ibiza? What are the differences between the two engines other than the power output?

Front-Mounted intercooler on the Cupra instead of the Side-Mount on the FR.

Bigger injectors im sure. Think the turbo is different aswell.

Not just engine wise, you get 4-pot AP racing brakes on the Cupra, while most put the 312mm TT set-up on the FR which is about £240. Depending what age of car you are going for, the bumpers are different.

i read somewhere the cupra is slighlty stiffer all round (chassis) about 15% or so. if i were buying an ibiza again id go for the cupra. except for the ihigher nsurance, its a better choice imho.

i think the tdi ibiza has just too much weight over the front wheels

to be honest tho, if i were buying now id get the bigger leon. which should have better handling (not that ive driven one) love the shape of this car.

Guess it depends on what you want to do with it.

I thought the 130 was generally better as a day to day car with a nice amount of grunt.

however if you are looking at modding the car - the cupra is a much better starting point due to intercooler, brakes and wishbone bushes

Thanks for the responses guys. The main reason I'm looking at the 160 is mostly due to the fact I'm moving from a mk5 Golf GTi and don't want to lose too much power. Looking at a nice one at the mo, £7695, grey with 39k miles, might pick it up this weekend. :D

The Cupra 160 is a good choice. You'll see just over 200bhp after a re-map and still get decent fuel economy
