16985 DTC & a ross tech query

i have 2 questions really... i have a 2003 lc 180 20vt and i have a 16985 that wont clear... is this terminal, does it affect anything or is it just an annoying light that wont go out. i have revo software at the min so dont want to loose my ecu!

Secondly, i have Ross-tech vag com 409-1 installed and working fine atm, i just downloaded vcds 805 from the ross-tech site and i cant get it to find my cable! at a wild guess i'd say driver fault but tbh i have no idea how to fix this.

btw i have windows xp serv pack 3, the cable is none ross tec item. (13.00 off of ebay)

Version 805 will only operate with genuine Ross-Tech interfaces. My guess is that you do not have a genuine interface.
