170PD MPG and DPF issues

Anyone got the T FSI DSG AUTO? Went to look today only thing what put me off was the car being auto.

I found that my car when doing 70-80 on the motorway, gives more miles to the gallon in 5th gear than in 6th... Which I think is really odd.
