Ok, it 18" really worth the extra £360? A friend of mine keeps telling me they are much more sought after and it will therefore make it much easier to sell in future. They also allow for a more stable drive. To me 18" wheels are just an external aesthetic difference which are not worth an additional £360. I don't think I can even tell the difference unless I look closely.

Any thoughts!?

The 17" ones are hideous, if you can't tell the difference between them you probably shouldn't be driving ;)

You'll probably get back the extra money when you come to sell anyway.

Seen some mixed reviews so far. Did a search previously and nothing came up, but was able to see lots of related posts after submitting my thread.

This will be on an FR. I will probably go with 17" - as they look less boy racerish, and if I were to spend £360 extra would likely get the convenience pack for the money. Keep the views coming :)

It,s not if you look "Boy Racerish" it's what suits the car. And, in my opinion, the 18" wheels are so much better. I personnaly found the 17" alloys too "spindally".

I agree with "POLKR". On an FR go with the 18" wheels and "Bluetooth". Even if you do not own a phone the extras you get on the display are worth it!

I am very happy with my 17" wheels, and the ride is not as harsh.

18's do not make the FR look boy-racerish, if anything it's the least boy-racer feature of the car! The seats, wing mirror covers, black diffuser and optional lurid paint job are far more obvious. 17's IMO do not fill the arches enough and the design isn't "right" for the Leon.

Do not sacrifce the 18's for the convenience pack. Auto lights and wipers and a dimming rear-view mirror are fairly cool, they don't have the same visual impact as the wheels and that's what'll sell the car on.

However, if you're going to fret about the cost of tyres or you've got a habit of brushing kerbs, then maybe the 17's will be a better option.

I'm a sucker for gadgets and I'm a lazy sod, as long as the auto lights, auto wipers, and dimming rear-view mirror are turn-off able.. then to me it does seem better value at present. So far more votes for the 18"'s. I'm going to have to study some pictures for a while.. I can't decide now!

I actually like the look of th 17"'s over the 18"'s but the 18"s fill the arches much better

its personnal taste but i would go for the 18"s if it was my choice

Yup,

There is the question about the "hardness" of the drive.

Having test driven models with both the 17" and 18" wheels I "personally" found that the FR seats compensated for the "claimed" harder drive with 18" wheels. I have now done several trips of over 250 miles each way and cannot complain about the ride!

yep, I also got 18s and bluetooth

I think on such a good-looking car the 17s don't really do it justice. Cosmetically it needs the 18s to finish it off. And I think the majority of people here, if they were considering buying a used FR, would be looking for one with 18s and bluetooth so much easier to sell (quickly)
