This has happened before under the same conditions. If the car has been left for a few days in low temperatures, then I start it up and let it idle for a bit longer than usual, it starts misfiring/hunting where the revs go up and down between 750-1000. Anytime when this has happened, I've just switched it off/on and it's been fine.
