ive got 18's on mine on 225/45's and its lowered 45mm and it doesnt rub but i had to put some 5mm spacers on the rear and also had to take the plastic arches out and modify the front bumper mounts and arches slightly but it doesnt look daft :S, imo it looks even dafter with 17's on it after seeing it with 18's

18's on an ibiza lowered 60mm will definetaly rub (rub being a bit of an understatement). i had to take a grinder to my arches on the inside. i cant fit my finger between my wheel and my arch and there is absolutely no way you can lower it 60mm without tearing your tires to shreds. take your back wheel off and take the plastic arch out and look at the shape of the inside of the arch.

If you take into account the sheer size of your tires I am not surprised that they rub. A 225/45 gives a sidewall size of 101.25mm.

In comparison a 215/35 gives a sidewall size of 75.25. The narrower width of the 215 means in wont rub the inside of the rear arch and a slighty higher offset on the front means it clears the arch lips so its not too bad :)

Anyway I guess I should just be quiet until I get pics up!!

hey im all for people tryin new things :) dont by any means think that im slagging you or anything mine dont rub usually, only when you hit extreme bumps that bottom the suspension out which doesnt happen very often at all. now that i think about it the narrower tire might actually allow you to pull it off. youll still need to grind down the front bumper mounts and the lip on the inside of the arch tho ;)

215/35 18s now on with a 45mm drop. Standard arches, no mods, arch liners still in place and no scrub even fully loaded and during hard cornering. Interesting....................

Will start a new thread with pics at the weekend.
