I've looked around and searched but I can't seem to find any specific help.

I might be upgrading to a set of 19" wheels.
2 tire options - 225-35- 19
- 235-35-19

Any adivise on why I should not putt a 19" wheel on a FR leon.
Also, by how much will my clock speed change?

Thanks in advance everyone.......

19" might be heavy, something to take into consideration depending on what alloy you are going for.

As said the rolling radius will stay the same as a smaller alloy. This means the rubber will be lower profile and the ride will be less comfy.

Tyres I imagine are also more expensive.

thanks guys. Tires are suprisingly similar priced considering the size diff.
I can't see how they dont last as long though. Should be the same as any other tire of similar spec in a 18"

19s WILL make your fuel consuption drop, mine went from 45mpg average to about 40mpg and its simply because there so heavy. also it was very bumpy when i fitted them.

No noticable diference on my car, although the 19's are lighter than the standard LCR alloys...

Those alloys on that red seat ( not sure if thats yours lol ) i want them ones lol. I seen a black leon 130 tdi like mine with them alloys on and i wanted to do a sneaky swap with mine lol Are those the standerd FR alloys or do you get them on the cupras as well.

If you mena the alloys in zipcode's sig they are standard LCR alloys.

i would of thought they'd last longer as the wheel has to turn less to make the same distance a smaller wheel would have to turn more.

in my experience larger wheel tyres have always outlasted smaller wheel tyres.

The circumference of the tyre on a 19" wheel is the same as that on an 18" wheel (if you put the correct tyres on), if you increase the diameter of the wheel you reduce the height of the sidewall to compensate. If you put the wrong tyres on you change the gearing of the car, that's maybe why some people think that bigger wheels change the fuel consumption of their cars, it might be because they have put the wrong tyres on?

Why do so many people on this site think that increasing the wheel diameter increases the diameter of the wheel/tyre combination?
