2.0 FSI EGR Problems???

Hello,

Having some issues with the EGR valve on my girls leon, its a 57plate 2.0 litre FSI, not sure whats actually wrong with the EGR system, but thats whats bringing on the engine managment light!

can anyone tell me if there is an EGR delete kit on the market for this and what needs done to the ECU to support this?

do petrols FSI's have an EGR valve? thought they were diesel only

egr valves are an issue on these
you either have to replace try to clean and see if it cures
or speak with gary @apt to see if he can map it out or knows someone who can

Hi,

had the same problem on my leon 1p (BLR engine) . It could be better of course if you scan it for errors but I assume that the problem is in your egr valve module.

I am a newbie here so I cannot post an url with picture of valve's location but you can search for egr valve location using its No. 06F 131 503 B

If briefly the egr valve is located above exhaust manifold, there is also a steel tube coming out from it (the tube connects the exhaust and inlet manifords)


all you have to do is to remove the EGR cap (mine black colored) by unscrewing 5 or 6 torx bolts.

Under the cap you should notice the damaged plastic gear. Remove the gear and put it back with a half turn in any direction. Mine still working for about 50k km after I fixed it.
