Only recently my Cupra has only been peaking at 2 PSI!! Its usually 14/15 but really doesn't kick in now..

Ive had no indications and the engine still runs and idles fine, just doesnt get any boost :(

What should I try? Is my turbo about to die?

could be any of a huge number of things like boost leak, split hose, hose poped off, maf, n75,etc etc...if you got vag-com would be more easy id start with checking hoses then unpluging maf see if it makes a difference...go from there bit of a guessing game unless you have a bit more info on mods etc...

Thanks for the advice, Ill have a look round before resorting to VAGCOM.

Mods dont go far, had a remap, air filter and N249 bypass.. :)

2psi is not limp mode btw. thats more like 7 psi iirc.

get it on vagcom. WIll save you heaps of time trying to find something yourself (as list is endless)

Reuvers....ive not got vag-com or used it...but will it be able to tell you if you have any leaks etc if you havent got any eml's up...??

thats the reason why i said bout checking hoses etc first...

Theres no evidence of damage to the pipes, but believe it could be something to do with the forge dump valve fitted.

Now, I got the car with this already on so have no idea what it'd be like standard. Is there a blanking cap in place usually?? Its just I would like to try the car without the dump valve fitted to eliminate this being a possibility..

Boost gauge is hardly even hitting 1 PSI now, and it seems more noticeable at higher speeds, IE accelerating at 80mph is like there is no decent power.

With a DV stuck wide open you should still hit 6-8psi.
2psi is below the actuator pressure which should 5 psi -7psi. IMO you have a boost leak on a large boost pipe or the actuator is naff or even the penny washer wich controls the boost inside the turbine housing.

You could be boosting 5 psi boot your gauge could be out by 3psi? Take the rubber pip off which goes from the n75 to the turbo and see in the car boosts. ( usd a bolt to temp blank thre pipe, and dont thrash or drive the car hard while this pipe is off)

Let me know how you get on

VAG COM would the only way to find out realy, even with no EML's it may still shed some light, i popped a vacum pipe a wile ago, no EML's but vagcom threw up a charge pressre, positive deviation code, thats either N75, Vacum pipe or boost pipe split or blown off. Realy shortened the list for me!! 9 out of 10 times its either a popped vacum or boost pipe tho!

Good luck!

Ive sussed it, and am now getting 17 psi peak!

I tried the turbo-N75 block off, but was still not getting any boost.

Popped down to Top Boss Performance to see if I could hook it up on diagnostics, but the problem was solved before that! Ended up being, the 4/6mm pipe which goes into the dump valve top had completely snapped. This was replaced with another, and after a short spin the turbo was running fully again!

Thanks for all the help and advice :)
