--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, have searched the forums but cannot find a definitive answer !

Does anyone run 205/50/16 tyres on their Ibiza without any problems ?

Cheers

I've been running 205/50/R16 for about 4 years /100k miles, get some slight rubbing on the fronts (on the screws that hold in the arch liner) when i hit dips/bumps at speed, but it's mainly on B roads that have uneven surfaces.
Not what i would consider a problem.
50 profile is slightly more expensive to buy.
benefits would be slightly better ride quality, and less road noise.

ive been running 205/50s for a few years on my sport, never had any rubbing issues on my standard suspension or the vrs suspension i have fitted now and ride quality is certainly improved.

I'm running 215/45/16 tyres (on wheels from a Mk5 Cupra) - my Mk4 FR had 205/40/17 on rather battered original alloys when I bought it. No problems at all with new wheels/tyres (& def more comfortable/pothole tolerant - previously had to replace front bushes!). I'm sure 205/50/16 should be OK. Rolling radius will be a bit bigger (so speedo will under-read).
