2005 LCR Brake Pads

Hello,

Just been quoted £150 (pads and labour) to have my brake pads replaced, is this a bit steep or am I just being tight? Its not getting done at a garage just by a friend of a friend if you know what I mean.

How expensive are the Seat brand pads against the aftermarket. Any advice greatful as I have niether the time to look into it or the knowledge to do it myself.

I'm living in Derby at the minute if anybody knows of any good garages who could do it.

Cheers in advance, 2 Minutes.

I had genuine LCR pads fitted by a Seat Specialist...

My invoice (ex.VAT) shows:

1ML698151 (brake pads) £110.93
Consumables £2.50
Labour £23.94

Total (Inc. VAT) £161.41

I've since had the tried, tested and highly recommended set up from Bill (Badger 5) and are a lot better than the OE set up!

Brembo grooved discs (LCR fitment)-£125+vat each
Ferodo DS2500 pads-£93+vat
Motul fluid-£8.99+vat/500ml bottle (3 to 4 for full bleed)

So, if it's only pads you want, the DS2500 pads would be a better option over OE pads. Much better performance, less dust and they're a bit cheaper too!

:D

ebc brake pads..

i tried to change my old brake pads with new ebc brake pads in my car and i find it great because it has low squeal properties, end brake dust problems, with non-corrosive and will not weaken the brake components...and guess what.. i had no problem the day i purchased my hardware kit coz they've given me this at a lesser cost..:)
