Hi guys,
Ok, where to start..... my FR is now the proud owner of a new reconditioned engine and turbo, thanks to the failure of an injector (one which Seat have alreasy replaced), which caused overfuelling to a cylinder, wrecking it, and the chuck of piston head which broke away from the overheating took care of the turbo!
Anyway, car is now running like a dream...... once it starts. If left for more than 4/5 hours, starting up takes more than a couple of seconds of cranking before firing up. I can cut it straight off, and it'll fire up first time. It feels like a fuelling issue, but I'm out of ideas.
List of things done so far to try and fix:
- new fuel pump
- new fuel filter housing (apparently there's some sort of valve in there which had failed)
- new injector seals
- fuel lines all cleaned
Thoughts anyone?
Cheers.
