To be clear i have seen him stalking a group of Leons on the motorway in the past so he is not innocent.

Not much to report really. Quite like the current position its in, obviously id like more power but the fact it handles so well makes it good fun anyway.

Slight issue has arisen in that i get a pulsing / surging at times, it seems worse when its cold and it only really noticeable when im hardly on the throttle so just over 30 in 4th seems about the worst of it. I've read it could be fuel filter or EGR, so im going to start with the fuel filter and if that doesnt resolve it i'll maybe look at getting the EGR delete done.

On this point im actually pretty sure this was "bad fuel" now, the tank has run down and I did a splash and dash using VPower Diesel (which i hadnt the time before) and the issue seems to have rectified itself, there was a coupe of days where there was quite a bit of black smoke under acceleration but that gone now as well, im going to replace the fuel filter anyway as ive bought it now but hoping thats the issue gone.

In other news the drivers door module seems to hvae decided to give up, ill check it for codes tomorrow but i had to climb in through the passenger side to unlock the door this morning,.

I have nearside and offside second hand mechanisms I bought for my 57 plate Leon FR, never used them as disposed of it, am near York

How much would you want for them? I’m happy to build up some supplies as I’m intending to keep the old girl for a while yet.

Simple but satisfying mod today, a battery case arrived.

Not sure you have to remove the battery but I did have to disconnect it so I figured it was easier, it’s in 3 parts and just clips in.

Notice on the above I have the cables wrongly routed, the actually go on the inside and then off to the right.

You can see the correct cable routing on the above image.

Did you purchase the battery box from a dealer?

I have seen a few on Ebay secondhand for around £30 and I have also seen some non official items for £15 that appear to be identical to the factory fit originals.

Sounds like the ones I have been looking at, I was just concerned with them not being genuine items what the fit would be like, but as you say and I can see in the pictures it does look spot on

Another small update... the rear offside light cluster has been rubbing for the last 12 years and it’s finally caused the paint to come away.

So I got a touch up kit from SEAT, it’s not quite an exact match but it’s good enough.

Finished off the engine cover. Used some of the paint I got on the “TDI” and a SEAT badge. I’ve got some others coming as well that are a silver backing rather than black so I’ll decide which one I prefer. Still small details that are quite satisfying...
