And so it starts to go back together... picked up the rear axle and suspension parts from the powder coater this morning, looks really good. Still some visible putting on the axle which shows I probably caught it just in time.

I’ve also started putting the bushes in

More to come as I finish off the bushes and put more of it back together.

Laid out all the parts as I wanted to check I’d collected everything.

Steady progress with the bushes, some are a little challenging to get into place and I don’t have a press so I may need to take some odds and sods to a garage to get it done.

More progress, I’ve got a little bit stuck on a couple of things ahi here has slowed me down, I was hoping to have it pretty much back together today.

All the bolts are just finger tight for now, I’ll go round and tighten as I get ready for finishing off and I’ll need to do some after I’ve dropped it back onto the wheels but getting there.

Cleaned up all’s one odds and sods,

Little clips for the abs sensor, quite like the fact they are idiot proof with a little lug to stop you putting them on backwards.

Failing that I’ll get in touch with the manufacturer and ask.

I thought I’d ordered new bolts for the ARB as I sheared one bit I can’t find them now... so I’ll have to get some more, also the lower control arm bolts were overlooked so there’s not a huge amount I can do now. I’ll plug away with it.

A bit of 2 steps forward one back today... progress but it took more hours than I’d have liked. Kept fitting things then having to take them off as it didn’t go back that way....

The final bolts arrived

Still the right side is back together and looking tidy enough....

Hoping the next couple of days I can sort the left side, then it’ll need tracking as I’m sure it’ll be miles out despite my best efforts!

You may need the camber checking on the rear as well as I’m sure the rear lower arms have camber bolts in the subframe end best with a full 4 wheel alignment to check the camber on the rear to mate

Yeah it’s does, toe and camber are going to be all over... I’m trying to set them so they are about the same but I’m not that hopeful!

No pics, I’ll get some but a bit rushed today. Got it all back together, happy with the result and a quick drive to make sure there are no hideous rattles and all is quiet.

I do have an ABS warning light for the left rear sensor so I’ll have a look at that tomorrow and see what’s going on, but should’t be a big issue.

The other completed side. Had a horrendous knocking.. turns out I had totally overlooked tightening the lower strut bolt, it was only in a couple of turns. What a muppet!

Looking tidy. Feels solid to drive although I do have a lot of negative camber at the moment, it’s really noticeable how where the wheel meets the arch, so I’ll be getting they eased a bit at some point.

The wheel speed sensor is still showing an error message, it’s a bit worn looking so I’ve ordered a new one. Should be here next week. The cars drivable as is but I’ll keep the mileage down as I don’t really want to have an accident on with error lights showing. That’s said it’s not like I’m going anywhere anyway. Lol.

New ABS sensor arrived, it’s quite a common issue and relatively easy to diagnose and replace so I plan on trying to do it as a guide.

So this is the end of the project. For unforeseen reasons the Leon will be going.

There will be some of the simpler to remove mods coming off like the Rear ARB, hard Pipe kit, anti loft kit, lowering springs, arm rest etc being sold so there will likely be some bargains to be had.

I’ll put a list up of all the parts that will be for sale and a price. If anyone is interested let me know.

A shame but needs must and I have plans a foot for something else in time.

Noooo!

Hope all is OK buddy, will be sad to see it go just like it was seeing mine go a few weeks ago.

Will someone not buy it straight off with stuff on it?

If I felt I could get some of the money back I might, but it’s often easier to sell the car as stock as possible and the bits separately.

Might advertise it as is on here as is and see if there is any interest.

And to answer your other question... yep all good,l just really struggling to merit having 3 cars at the moment, none of them are really getting used.
