Well the missus couldn't wait (or wouldn't wait) so went ahead and bought an SC 1.2 TSI Sportrider in white.
She was unsure on the new styling anyway and all the dealers we spoke to inferred prices would be higher.
Eventually a dealer offered us from the port the SC TSI for a price we couldn't refuse.

Assistance is different from feel though. Renaults typically weight up too much on the motorway, so much so it feels very false. I drive a mk4 ibiza and personally, in find the steering has more feel in the mk4 and is more responsive. I assume seat changed this for the mk5 becuase the over-assisted steering is more appealing to the majority of the public.
Very impressed by the latest videos and shots! I'd be tempted by a 1.2 TSI/ 1.6 TDI FR SC
